CEO’s Act on Diversity and Inclusion Pledge

This is the second year of the pandemic. Many companies are working remotely, and the virus continues to have an impact on our health. Due the uncertainty of the virus and when it will decline, we decided not to hold our annual diversity and inclusion leadership gala.

We continue to target companies that have signed the pledge CEO’s Act on Diversity and Inclusion for sponsorship. Lifespan was one of the companies whose CEO signed the pledge, became a sponsor in 2020 and renewed their support in 2021. Their CEO, Dr. Timothy Babineau participated in World Unity Inc.’s 5 Minute Leadership Dialogue. We are continuing this initiative in 2022.

Our proposal invites companies to be sponsors supporting our initiatives: 1) Advocating building the World Unity Landmark in Dorchester Bay City Development 2) Plant seeds of equality through our program Singing Equality across America and around the World 3) Plant the Sun poem in the USA and beyond through our public service message to media outlets and social media platforms in organizations and institutions and 4) Promote World Unity Inc.’s 5 Minute Leadership Dialogue.

We completed one year of interviewing leaders for World Unity Inc.’s 5 Minute Leadership Dialogue. Our leaders have included a mayor, executive at Walmart, Comcast, president of West Liberty University, president of DSM global company with over 21,000 employees and a Pulitzer Prize Winning Journalist.

We ended the year with an interview with Head Coach women’s basketball team at Langston University, Elaine Powell who is a former WNBA champion., We continue to reach out to school districts across Massachusetts and beyond and cultivate the relationships we have with schools in Boston and Malden Massachusetts, Manchester, New Hampshire and Denver, Colorado, Little Rock, Arkansas and Anaheim, California.

It has been a challenging year seeking corporate sponsors. The great news is we received a $5,000 donation from Write the World!
Total revenues raised for 2021, $48,323.
Total expenses for 2021, $33, 915.

President continues to receive stipend of $24,000 and Vice-President, Treasurer and websmaster receives $6,000 to design, update and maintain website.

While we were not able to raise funds we hoped for, we ended the year on a great note! Sara gave a TED Talk focused on the Sun poem. It has been very well received. Here are some comments from supporters:
