19 years ago a dedicated board of directors embarked upon an extraordinary mission - to build a permanent landmark showcasing the Sun poem:

Are you greater than the sun;
that shines on everyone;
Black, Brown, Yellow, Red and White,
the sun does not discriminate.

This timeless, universal and transformative message has reached thousands of people since the poem was popularized in 1985 in a city-wide public service campaign in Boston and New York City in the 1980’s. The construction of the World Unity Landmark in the seaport district of Boston will impact future generations.
